The Itinerary · 10 Days

The Journey

A 10-day journey through Uzbekistan, shaped to move with ease. Time is given where it matters most, with space to settle into each place rather than rush through it.

The UzOz Approach

Ten Days Through Uzbekistan

The Ideal Scale

Groups are capped at 4–5 guests. Small enough to move easily through ancient streets, large enough to share the experience. This size opens doors — to private kitchens, to workshops, and to conversations that don't happen in larger groups. (For groups of 6, two vehicles are arranged for the mountain journey.)

Fully Catered

Every meal and all non-alcoholic beverages are included. The experience moves naturally from bazaar snacks to shared tables and private Dasturxons.

Seamless Transitions

All internal flights, high-speed trains, and private transfers are arranged. You move through the country without needing to think about logistics.

  1. Day 1

    Arrive Tashkent

Arrive in Tashkent and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, a short neighbourhood walk. Dinner introduces the seasonal flavours of the capital.

    Overnight: Tashkent

  2. Day 2

    Tashkent: Layered and Evolving

An introduction to the capital's older quarters and Soviet-era layers. Lunch at a local favourite. The afternoon is left open. Dinner features modern Uzbek cuisine.

    Overnight: Tashkent

  3. Day 3

    Tashkent → Khiva

Morning flight to Urgench and transfer to Khiva. After a traditional Khorezmian lunch, begin exploring the old city — courtyards, small workshops, and the rhythm of daily life.

    Overnight: Khiva

  4. Day 4

    Khiva: A Living City

A full day in Khiva, experienced as a place people still live in. Time for tea in quiet corners and a shared meal within the city walls.

    Overnight: Khiva

  5. Day 5

    Khiva → Bukhara

Morning flight to Bukhara. A slower afternoon, followed by an evening that unfolds around shared tables, food, and music.

    Overnight: Bukhara

  6. Day 6

    Bukhara → Samarkand

Early visit to the Samanid Mausoleum, followed by a final Bukhara lunch. In the afternoon, take the high-speed Afrosiyob train to Samarkand.

    Overnight: Samarkand

  7. Day 7

    Samarkand

A day in Samarkand that moves between the well-known and the less obvious. Markets, craft, and time beyond the main sites.

    Overnight: Samarkand

  8. Day 8

    Samarkand → Tashkent

Morning at leisure. After lunch, return to Tashkent by train. An evening meal to close the day.

    Overnight: Tashkent

  9. Day 9

    Tashkent → Mountains

Late-morning departure for the mountains. Arrival at a private dacha for a relaxed afternoon and a traditional Dasturxon prepared with seasonal ingredients.

    Overnight: Mountain dacha

  10. Day 10

    Mountains → Tashkent → Departure

A slow morning in the mountains. Return to Tashkent and transfer to the airport for departure.

Getting There

Getting There & Travel Info

Most travellers reach Uzbekistan via Southeast Asia. It's the most comfortable way to break the journey and arrive ready to take things in.

A stopover in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok works well. One flight from Australia, one onward into Tashkent. It turns a long journey into something more manageable.
